A waning crescent moon rises over the Mogollon Rim on the first day of Summer, 2014.
This is from a late winter, early spring storm in May 2013. I'd never been to Sycamore Canyon south of Williams and had only heard of it a few weeks prior. This looks like a monsoon shot, but was way before that season. I'd spent the entire day on the opposite side of the canyon at Harding Point looking for a good overview like this, but nothing was worthy of hanging around for. The weather on this day was absolutely fantastic. I couldn't have asked for better conditions to create my environmental portrait of this stunning and rarely visited canyon.
Saguaro cactus line a ridge overlooking Roosevelt Lake from just off the A-Cross Road. A winter storm was dropping rain and snow on the mountains in the distance.
