Ferns turn a golden color in late summer on the Freidlein Prairie Wilderness at the base of the San Francisco Peaks.
The Inner Basin Trail starts in Lockett Meadow and winds up into the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff, Arizona. I hiked the trail in the Fall of 2012 when the aspen were turning gold and dropping their leaves.
