MY FIRST PANORAMA

Here's a shot of our backyard in North Platte, Nebraska circa 1977. I used a 1916 Kodak Brownie box camera. This primitive camera produced surprising results. Except for a bit of softness and a couple hot spots corrected in Photoshop, the image is perfectly acceptable.

It looks like my Father either just finished or was about to mow the lawn. It was an enormous lawn on all four sides of the house. There were only a few allergy-crazed days I escaped from the yard work

The giant crabapple tree that dominates the backyard was a favorite climbing tree. In the Spring, the tree was full with sublime, pink blossoms.

This tree also was a source of ammunition for crabapple wars with neighborhood kids. More than one car driving by was peppered with the tiny apples on a dark Saturday night. One chase and capture by an angery motorist resulted in being taken to the my next door neighbor's father who was a Nebraska Highway Patrol officer...
