A story about a rich gold treasure being hidden somewhere in the mountains is probably fiction. It's probably a cover story by a German man named Jacob Waltz who was a fence for gold thieves in the surrounding areas of southern and central Arizona. His story was a convenient way to explain the gold he did possess. Needless to say, the location of the Lost Dutchman's gold has never been found. Still, People come from around the world to search for the elusive gold.

This shot was taken in December 2008 after a winter storm had come through the area. I waited for an hour or so before the sun dropped below the clouds to illuminate the mountain. It was worth the wait and was spectacular to witness. It's hard to take a bad picture of these magnificent mountains.
