Another view from the Cinder Hills Off-Highway Vehicle Area south of the crater. I had a blast and almost got horribly stuck driving around these volcanic hills. The views were breathtaking. This lower hill was no problem to get to, but higher hills tested my skills as a driver as well as my 4x4's aging CV axles...

On one accent, I nearly was pinned between two trees as I slid around in the loose volcanic soil. This would have stranded me until someone came along to pull me out. Fortunately, I didn't get stuck. Nevertheless, flying solo is exciting at times...
