The remnants of fire are evident in this area. The area is in the last phase of recovery with a few burnt trees still standing. I saw several deer after taking this photograph. They were attracted to the carpet of vegetation that fire creates by removing the canopy and letting sunlight reach the ground. Fire is simply a process of renewal in the forest.
