At 22 miles long, Roosevelt Lake is the largest lake completely contained in the state of Arizona. Lake Mead and Lake Powell both dwarf Roosevelt but are also are found in nearby states. Arizona shares Lake Mead with Nevada, whereas most of Lake Powell is found in Utah.
This area is an outdoor enthusiasts Disneyland. There are three mountain wilderness areas, ancient indian cliff dwellings, a national forest, two lakes and rivers, countless creeks, snow capped peaks, views galore and miles upon miles of roads... I even saw people flying ultra-light aircraft above the lake. What more could you want?
