Today, some reinforced concrete supports this amazing, intact agate column of petrified wood. It was originally discovered without any support suspended above the small wash that carved it out. What a sight that must have been!
I had to laugh as I turned in the Agate Bridge parking lot. There was a star burst of jet contrails spreading out in every direction across the sky. I had lucked out the day before. The clouds covered up everything. But not this day...
I left some of the contrails in this shot because it was so comical. There is no less than 12 jet streams in the uncropped version of this shot. A very busy Friday morning in the friendly skies...
And... I think it's funny the only green thing I photographed during my trip was on this shot under a 225-million-year-old piece of wood.
