AGATE BRIDGE

Today, some reinforced concrete supports this amazing, intact agate column of petrified wood. It was originally discovered without any support suspended above the small wash that carved it out. What a sight that must have been!

I had to laugh as I turned in the Agate Bridge parking lot. There was a star burst of jet contrails spreading out in every direction across the sky. I had lucked out the day before. The clouds covered up everything. But not this day...

I left some of the contrails in this shot because it was so comical. There is no less than 12 jet streams in the uncropped version of this shot. A very busy Friday morning in the friendly skies...

And... I think it's funny the only green thing I photographed during my trip was on this shot under a 225-million-year-old piece of wood.
