There is a great hiking path at the Crystal Forest. It has tons of petrified wood and sweeping views. There is an Agate House and the Long Logs I missed on this trip. The partially restored pueblo is a built with petrified wood.

From the second day... I stopped at the Crystal Forest again.
Photo 1 is a photo of the logs beside the road. You don't need to hike off on the Crystal Forest Trail to see the good stuff.
Photo 2 is a cross section of petrified wood that still looked so much like real wood...
The petrified stuff was everywhere.
Photo 3 is what the ground looked like in spots....
Totally covered with petrified wood chips.
