THE MOGOLLON RIM

This marks the edge of the Colorado Plateau that dominates northern Arizona. This photo is taken from Milk Ranch Point looking northeast.

This is also where Forest Service Road 300 starts. The road follows the contour of the rim and is a great off-road experience. Breathtaking views like this abound along the way. Chevelon, Bear Canyon, Knoll and Woods Canyon Lakes are scattered along the route and are definitely worth seeing.

The Mogollon Rim is also home to lots of great historic events mostly between the Apache tribe and the soldiers stationed at Camp Verde. There are monuments to the battles along the way. And there are some of the original mileage markers to be found if you watch closely.
