A long finger of the lake extended south. The trail seemed to follow, but was rough and I didn't go very far. I didn't need to, it was plenty beautiful. The trail rose up a bit and gave a slightly different perspective at this open spot.

Bear Canyon Lake probably gets the least traffic of all the rim lakes. Chevelon Lake is more remote, but still probably sees more people.
