More of a wet meadow, I saw more wildlife here than in most other lakes with water. The plethora of birds was amazing. Yellow-headed black-birds, numerous species of sparrows, harrier hawks, bald-eagles, ravens, turkey vultures etc. A coyote bolted away from a deer carcass when I drove in. Except for me, people were conspicuously absent here. There were a couple ranches in the area. You can barely see one on the right at the tree line. The San Francisco Peaks are seen in the background.
