A group is starting to put in at this jumping-off point for many Colorado River rafting trips. Access is restricted downstream to only a few commercial tour companies. This is also a world-class trout fishery. The cold water below the Glen Canyon Dam maintains the flow. Rainbow Trout love this cold water. Other native species may not be so tolerant and are in decline. Planned floods have been used as an attempt to restore habitat that native fishes need to thrive. |
