I never get tired of the different moods of Lake Pleasant. Since it's the closest lake to Phoenix, I have spent many days and nights on its shore. Several roads that branch off Two Cow Road provide access to the northern bays and coves. It is a peaceful and fun place to enjoy some primitive lakeside camping.

During a typical summer weekend day, it's a very different place. The lake is transformed by the roar of power boats and jetskis. Small boats must be careful not run the risk of being swamped by the large wake created by all the fast movers. Inexperienced boaters speed through no wake zones. They drive too close to other boaters and people fishing from shore. Only when night settles in again does it return to a peaceful and serene place.
