The main spillway for Horseshoe Lake was dry as a bone. They were releasing water from a smaller outlet near the water not visible in this pano.

I could imagine it would be pretty impressive to see the water careening off this spillway during a major release. Although if there was a major release, the area would no doubt be closed. Only one road accesses the entire area and is subject to closure during flash floods.
