This shot is from one of the side roads I'd seen on Google Earth. In fact, I drove right to it. The funny thing about Google Earth is that you have little idea what the terrain is really like until you get there. I was surprised at all the ups and downs in elevation this seldom used road provided. The road itself was pretty much what I expected though. Primitive.
The same senario was playing out over and over. The light was ever-changing. If I wasn't ready or had a problem with the camera, I missed the shot. The conditions were good for a while, then terrible. Or it would start raining again. Nevertheless, I was loving it and there was no hardship with such beauty at hand.
This would have been a spectacular campsite minus the wind and rain. It was the rain that finally drove me away. I didn't feel that comfortable here if it really started coming down hard. I wasn't so much worried about a flash flood as a slippery, muddy, rollercoaster road with no traction.
