It rained lightly a few times through the night. I knew the Russians were sleeping outside and had a bit of a chuckle. Hardcore...

It was still very dark out when I got up to leave. I walked the dogs and said hello to the neighbors. I asked the English-speaker if he'd had any luck, "Only little catfish" he said. His english was impeccable. Every syllable and consanant perfectly articulated but with that unmistakable foreign accent. I had it stuck in my head all morning.... Little catfish.

This shot is just up the road from where I camped. The road rose up and provided this expansive panorama of the Verde Valley. The tamarisk were starting to take on fall colors.

The rain finally ended my photo session. But, I stopped here again on the way out. Mother Nature had one more treat for me...
