WHITE HOUSE OVERLOOK

There was a cool hiking trail to the valley floor from this overlook. While I was photographing, I could hear the bells of a small herd of goats below. It took a while to see them though. They were tiny.

The vast nature of this place was a bit overwhelming. Much like being at the Grand Canyon. Too much good stuff going on all around. I would have loved to spend a few days here... and in different seasons.

One tourist I talked to had taken a jeep tour through the valley floor. There were a couple great acheological sites with ancient dwellings built into the sides of the cliffs. Again, they looked tiny from the lip of the canyon.

I got home and realized I hadn't seen Spider Rock. Probably one of the most iconic spots in the park. It was further up the road on the south side. There were several more places on the north road I didn't have time for either. I'm already planning a return trip. I love big ditches in the middle of nowhere!
