The Arkansas River roared past this road near the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness. There were a couple miles of road on both sides of the river for access. I would imagine white-water rafting was big here. Can't imagine trying to fish. The current was crazy. The weather sucked big time and I was lucky to get this shot and stay dry. But I love it! Talk about a moody shot... You can almost feel the rain falling...

The second day of my two day trip back from Nebraska was going to be the big photography day. I'd made a big push to get as far into Colorado as I could the first day. My plan was to end up at Canyon de Chelly sometime in the late afternoon. I'd been Jones'n to go Canyon de Chelly for a while. Now, I could swing by it on my way through Colorado and maybe catch Ship Rock in New Mexico too...
