The view from Hwy 1 looking south. My girlfriend and I used to drive down here, pull over, park and watch the humpback and gray whale migration. You could see for miles out to sea, but the whales were only a mile off shore. You'd see the tail whip up like a hand on a bent wrist and then slip back into the ocean. Amazing! A zen moment for sure.

This handheld image took an amazing amount of Photoshop manipulation. The stitching process left me wondering if I could salvage the shot at all... The exposures from one frame to the next were different. The frames didn't have enough overlap. The sky wasn't straight or lined up. I'm amazed it turned out as well as it did. Color film would also have been good, but I black and white was all I could afford at the time.
