LAST LIGHT AT BARTLETT LAKE

Sizes

This June 2011 shot is closer to the main lake than the previous shot. Shore access is only available at times of low water. I had a great time fishing and bird watching. A bald eagle was my companion for a while before it caught a fish and flew to the other side of the lake to eat. What a sight! The fishing was excellent. I caught 4 different species and the water was teaming with life. I'd caught a huge trout on a bass spoon once, so I used the trout lure I already had tied on to catch large-mouth bass on each of my first two casts!

The only disappointment this year has been the wildflower bloom . No poppies. At least not yet. And the brittlebush looks pathetic too. The palo verde trees were amazing though. It's been an odd spring...
